The Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood
International Airport is expanding and
improving the South Terminal Exit Roadways
in order to accommodate and safely handle
the Airport’s anticipated future traffic
growth. BPA is proud to be part of the Team
responsible for the development of the
Alternatives Report and Design Built
Criteria Package for the new South Terminal
Exit Roadways. BPA’s initial
participation included development of the
bridge structures for the Rental Car Center
exit ramps connecting into the upper level
exit roadways and the access ramp structure
from Perimeter Road. Further development of
the work included conceptual design of the
upper level roadway structures including
future tie-ins and exit ramp structure to
US-1 for the expansion of the New Terminal
4. The work consists of development of the
bridge structures for several alternative
designs, including construction phasing,
cost estimates, and alternative evaluations
for selection of the preferred solution.
BPA is also responsible for the development
of the Bridge Development Report, 30% plans,
and design-built criteria package
corresponding to the Rental Car Center exit
ramps connecting into the upper level South
Terminal Roadways.
